Worlds
Worlds is for the world your server actually loads: viewing the active world, downloading it, extracting uploaded world archives, switching worlds, and regenerating from a fresh seed.
Back up before changing worlds.
Create a backup before extracting, switching, restoring, or regenerating world data.
Download the active world
- Open Worlds.
- Use Prepare download for the active world.
- Wait for the archive to finish.
- Download the completed archive and keep it somewhere safe.
Upload and activate a world
- Upload the world archive from Files.
- Extract the archive from Files or from the Worlds archive list.
- Use Set active world on the folder you want the server to load.
- Restart the server so Minecraft loads that world.
Switch the active world
Set active world changes the world folder used at startup. It does not delete other world folders. The change applies after a restart, so players may still be in the old world until the server restarts.
Regenerate a world
Regenerate sets the current world aside as <name>-old and lets Minecraft create a fresh world on the next start. The server must be stopped first.
If the wrong world loads
Confirm the active world folder, restart the server, then check Console for startup errors. If a recent upload or extract caused the problem, restore the last known good backup.
