Frequently asked questions

Do my old Forge mods work on NeoForge?
Not automatically. NeoForge started as a fork of Forge and the two were briefly interchangeable, but they have since gone separate ways, so a mod needs a NeoForge build to run. In practice this is rarely a problem: most actively maintained mods publish NeoForge builds first these days, and big packs do all of that sorting for you.
Should I pick NeoForge or Forge?
For current Minecraft versions, NeoForge. It is where most mod development moved, and the marquee packs of this generation target it. Forge still matters for older classics built against it, so if a pack names its loader, use that one. Every pack we sell arrives with the right loader already installed and tested on our hardware.
Can we switch to a different pack later?
Yes. Your dashboard can switch the server to another pack or server type. Take a backup first and the old world stays restorable.
Are backups included?
Yes. Off-site cloud backups are included on every plan, on a configurable hourly to weekly cadence, with up to 20 kept.
