Connect to your server

Use the Java Edition address from Overview or Network. If a launcher cannot resolve the friendly address, use the direct host and port shown beside it.

Quick answer

Open Minecraft Java Edition, choose Multiplayer, add a server, paste the loothost address, and join.

Where to find the address

Open the server's Overview or Network tab. You will see two connection values:

  • Java Edition address: the friendly hostname to try first.
  • Direct connect: a host:port fallback for launchers or networks that do not resolve SRV records.

Join from Minecraft Java Edition

  1. Start Minecraft Java Edition with the same Minecraft version as the server.
  2. Choose Multiplayer.
  3. Choose Add Server, or Direct Connection for a one-time join.
  4. Paste the Java Edition address from loothost.
  5. If that fails, paste the direct host:port address instead.

If the server is modded

A modded server usually requires the matching client loader, Minecraft version, and client-side mods. If Minecraft says the mod list or protocol is wrong, fix the client install first.

If the server uses a whitelist

Add the Minecraft username from the Players tab before the player tries to join. Whitelist, op, deop, kick, ban, and pardon actions require the server process to be running.

Common connection messages

Unknown host

Use the direct host:port address. If that works, the friendly address was not resolved by your launcher or network.

Connection refused

Check the server status. It may be stopped, still provisioning, suspended, or parked.

Incompatible version

Launch the same Minecraft version and loader the server is running.

Not whitelisted

Add the exact Minecraft username from Players, then have the player reconnect.
