You start in the stone age with almost nothing, and the mod list only reveals itself as your civilization earns it: primitive tools, then metal, then machines, then technology your first campfire could never have imagined. How much RAM does SevTech: Ages need?
SevTech: Ages runs on 8 GB and up. That is a tested number from running the pack on our own hardware, not a guess. For a typical friend group we recommend the Modded plan: 8 GB, sized for 3-10 players.
Why can't we see most items and recipes at the start?
By design. SevTech hides almost everything until your progression unlocks it, so each age reveals new mods, recipes, and mechanics as you earn them. It feels strict for the first evening and then becomes the pack's best trick: there is always a next horizon.
Is SevTech a good pack for a group server?
It might be the best one. The campaign is long enough that dividing the labor genuinely matters, and every age milestone feels like a team victory. A server keeps the world running so everyone can chip away at their own piece between sessions.
Can we switch to a different pack later?
Yes. Your dashboard can switch the server to another pack or server type. Take a backup first and the old world stays restorable.
Are backups included?
